My mother and I had a tour of the hall on one of its open days mainly because we wanted to see where both my grandmothers had worked. The tour was very enjoyable and informative, if a bit quick. I would have loved to stroll around at my own pace and have tea in the gardens. I know it is wishful thinking but maybe a thought to be considered.

My great grandfather worked on the estate for many years and I would be interested in some information about him if possible. His name was Robert Lyon and he died in 1932.

This historic house has been in the ownership of the Stanley Family, the Earls of Derby, since 1385 and from that time the history of the family has been closely intertwined with the history of the country as a whole. Knowsley Hall has an important and dramatic history and now offers an excellent setting for all types of event.
